MTV Emas 2024: The Magic of Music in Manchester
For the third year in a row, Taylor Swift was the undisputed star of the MTV Emas, an event that took place at the historic Co-op Live Arena in Manchester, a musical epicenter known for being the birthplace of iconic bands like Oasis. The 2024 edition, which followed last year’s cancellation in Paris due to safety concerns, celebrated European popular music with an event full of emotion and unforgettable performances.
Annalisa triumphed as Best Italian Act, expressing her gratitude for an award that values hard work and passion. She shared: > “This award is a push to always do better.” Competing with her were well-known names such as Mahmood, Ghali and The Kolors.
Despite Taylor Swift’s absence due to touring commitments, the artist won four awards out of seven nominations: Best Video for “Fortnight” (feat. Post Malone), Best Artist, Best Live and Best US Act. South African Tyla stood out with three awards, including Best Afrobeats and Best African Act, while Rita Ora repeated her role as presenter, dazzling the audience with spectacular costume changes.
The show featured world-class artists. 22-year-old Benson Boone opened the night with an energetic performance of his hits. Mexican band The Warning rocked the arena with “Automatic Sun,” while Raye impressed everyone with her stunning voice backed by a 30-piece choir. Shawn Mendes gave a more intimate performance, followed by singer-songwriter Teddy Swims.
An Event Full of Emotions
